INDIE FILM SCREENINGS: ‘UNSINKABLE: Titanic Untold’

Maine’s oldest movie theater, the Colonial, will be screening a brand-new independent drama (‘UNSINKABLE: Titanic Untold’ | Rated PG) about the U.S. Senate’s rarely-remembered investigation into the myriad factors that led to the sinking of the RMS Titanic in the middle of the Atlantic in mid-April 1912. The 100-minute film starring Karen Allen (‘Indiana Jones…’) and Cotter Smith (‘Mindhunter’) was identified as having an “…an authentic feel…” by The Guardian.

Ominous coincidence: the Colonial Theatre opened its doors for the first time the same day that the storied ship disembarked on April 12. One sunk in mere days, the other burned to the ground less than twelve years later and was rebuilt by 1924.
